Call for Abstract: IFMIA2015

The International Forum on Medical Imaging in Asia (IFMIA) is a forum for academic researchers, biomedical scientists and engineers, and clinicians in all Asian countries to exchange new ideas and the latest developments in the medical imaging field. This forum has been held nearly biyearly since 2007.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Medical Imaging and Reconstruction Theory (CT, MR, X-ray, US, PET, SPECT, OCT, Biological image, Histological Image, etc.)
  • Medical Image Analysis (Segmentation, Registration, Feature extraction, etc.)
  • Computational Anatomy and Computational Physiology
  • Computer-aided Diagnosis
  • Computer-aided Surgery and Therapy (Medical robots, Surgical and Interventional Systems, etc)
  • Radiogenomics / Radiomics
  • Visualization, Interactions, Virtual/Augmented Reality, and Simulations
  • Medical Informatics (PACS, IHE, Telemedicine, E-health, etc.)
  • Deep Learning in Medical Imaging

Addition to the above topics, indicate at least 1, and a maximum of 5 key words when your submission.

Rules for Abstract Submission

Please read the submission rules carefully before submitting an abstract.

  • Abstracts must be written in English and submitted in PDF format using the provided template via the online submission system. Submissions via email will not be accepted.
  • Abstracts must be received by the announced deadline. Submissions after the deadline will not be considered.
  • The Scientific Committee will decide whether the abstract is accepted for presentation, and the result will be announced in the Abstract Notifications on Monday, January 20, 2025.
  • All accepted abstracts will be presented as poster sessions at designated locations during the conference program. Additional oral presentations may be requested by the Scientific Committee.
  • Accepted authors must upload their poster presentation data by Monday, March 10, 2025, for web viewing.

Poster Submission Details

Besides the physical poster for the on-site presentation, accepted poster presenters are required to upload a final 1-page PDF of their poster by March 10, 2025, for online viewing.
Physical posters should be designed to fit the following poster board size for on-site presentation:
H2100mm x W900mm

Limitations

  • Presenting authors must be registered participants.
  • The presenting author is responsible for ensuring that all co-authors are aware of and agree to the content of the abstract before submission.
  • All abstracts should be the submitted and presented in English.

IFMIA2025 Poster Award

IFMIA2025 will award outstanding poster presentations at IFMIA2025. Everyone who is accepted for IFMIA2025 will have the opportunity to present a poster. All presenters will be required to upload a PDF of their poster in advance. All poster presenters who apply for the award will first be scored based on the uploaded PDFs, and then the presentations on the day of the event will be evaluated. The scoring will be conducted by the Award Selection Committee, the Program Chairs, and the Session Chairs of IFMIA2025. Based on the compiled scoring results, the Selection Committee will choose the best poster presentations. You can apply for the award when you submit your abstract if you meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • Students
  • Within 10 years of obtaining a degree.
  • Under 35 years old

The award ceremony will take place at the closing ceremony on the second day of the conference, at 5:00 PM on March 21, 2025.

How to Apply for the Award

Step 1: Confirm if you meet at least one of the following criteria as of March 2025:

  • You are a student.
  • You obtained your degree within the past 10 years.
  • You are under 35 years old.

If eligible, check the box “〇 I will apply for the award” when submitting your abstract.

Step 2: Select “Poster” as your presentation type.

Step 3: Upload the abstract in PDF format using the provided template and complete the submission.

Step 4: Upload the poster presentation data by March 10, 2025.*

  • The poster data should be identical to what will be used for the on-site presentation.
  • Rename the poster file to your presentation ID, which starts with "P" (e.g., P-0001).

The results of the award judging will be displayed on the boards at the poster session, and the award ceremony will be held during the conference's closing ceremony.
